Tumble again?

Apparently I had old media that was too dirty. All my shells are getting spots on them. I already sized, trimmed and put in primers. Bought some new clean media, can I tumble again??? Or should I hand wipe with some type of cleaner?

I wouldn't tumble again. I would worry about a bit of media getting stuck in a flash hole and causing a misfire. If it is just some staining spots I would just reload and shoot. if it is corrosion I would wipe them down to stop it.

I wouldn't retumble with the primers in.

OK, no 2nd tumble. Is there a good brass cleaner I can use to wipe them down? Simple wiping doesn't remove the spots.

Unless the spots are corrosion that is raised on the brass, load and shoot them. Just a colored spot in the side of the brass won't affect shooting.

Like others have said, don't tumble cases with unfired primers.

Lee makes a case holder that you chuck into a drill and you can spin the cases onto steel wool. That would remove corrosion or dis-coloration.

Brass cleaners like Brasso are not recommended for cleaning cases.

The primary reason to clean cases is to remove anything that would scratch your reloading dies or the chamber of your gun. Dis-colored cases shoot just as well as shiny ones do.

Gotta be careful if you use anything to wipe them down. Would hate to have a primer get contaminated and misfire, or worse, squib/hangfire on you.
