Now, if I were you, my plan would accept the risk of losing your ammo mentioned above, and have a local reloader that I trusted reload the ammo for me. No sense in getting $300-1000 into a set-up just to go on a couple hunts. Guys---He's already stated he's reloaded other calibers for a long time, so all he needs is the dies, powder, and bullets. Also, you don't need to be licensed to reload for someone else as long as it's not a business. There are a lot of people that reload for their friends who buy all the stuff for them.

Unless the BATFE changed the laws since i turned my FFL back in, it IS against the law for private individuals to reload unless the person being reloaded for is present and helping. Otherwise the person reloading has to have a ammo manufacturing license. Ammo manufacturing licenses are either class 7 or class 8 FFL (I don't recall which). If you doubt me just go to the BATFE website and read it for yourself. |

Not talking about manufacturing ammunition for sale, which requires a license. If I use supplied components from a buddy at his cost and put it together out of the goodness of my heart, nothing illegal about it. |
