What bullet do you load for AR?

Just bought an AR and will be loading for it.
I have a bolt action .223 and have it shooting great but the AR I will mainly be loading for plinking.
Looking for opinions.

What twist is the barrel and what do you plan to use it for, target, hunting, 3 gun? I load 50g and 55g Nosler Ballistic Tips (varmint) for my two....my Rock River really prefers the 55's while the custom home brewed rifle (Bushmaster lower, Olympic Arms Upper, Pac-Nor Barrel) prefers 50's...same barrel twist (1:9)...both rifles shoot MOA (most days...LOL)

Sorry, thought I posted the twist....1:8
I've read that my AR model likes the v-max 60grainers which would be great because my bolt .223 likes the too.
Gonna use this thing for plinking and coyotes.

I found a couple boxes of V-Max 60gr.
Gonna see how they load up.
I posted the twist wrong the other day. It's actually 1:9 which is the same as my bolt .223.
Would love to be able to load the same bullet for both guns so here goes nothing.

I developed a load several years ago when I had two ARs. I wanted a load that worked out of both. One was a 1:7 and the other was 1:9. I found the 69gr SMK with .2gr over the target load listed for Varget in the Sierra manual's AR section. Worked great. I also shoot 55gr Vmax as well as the 70gr speer semi point. I try to load up ammo that will shoot well out of both so I can save time.

I shoot my own cast 55 to 65 gr boolitz in 4 different Armalite rifles in 5.56, I have 3 different 4 and 6 cavity molds I generally feed them with surplus WC844 and CCI 41 primers. I have also used Re7, Re15, 4198, 3031, 4895 and 4320, with 4320 I have succesfuly shot cast at 2850 from a 16" 1x9 5.56 DPMS barrel.
Cast will work fine in your 1x8 barrel regardless of what chamber you have. If you have a 1x8 twist barrel chance are very good it is not a 223 but a 5.56 chamber.
