I'm yearning to see what else my Rem700 in 280Remington likes. I've had great success shooting either Nosler 140gr BT or 139gr Hornady SST bullets with 57gr of H4831SC.
Just curious as to what other powder/load I should try.
Thanks...Ed

My buddies 280rem abolt is the same 160 class really shine. H4831SC is its powder. WLR primers, rem brass. I can't remember off hand his charge with 160gr AB's but 54.5gr H4831sc seems to pop out. Like anything use your manuals, cross reference and work up slowly.
I'd give the 154 Hornady IB's a look. Had good results using them in a 280, 7 rem mag

Found out years ago that my old 725 Rem. just loved 139 gr. Hornady and 53.0 gr. IMR 4350 w/ Rem. 9 1/2 primer. Very accurate in this gun, but you need to find out what your rifle likes best... The 280 Rem is a fantastic cartridge.

Mine likes 58.0 gr. H4831SC Fed.210M in Win. Cases with the 140 gr. CTBT. Using the Barnes 140 gr. TSX the rifle like 55.0 gr. RL19 in Rem Brass with CCI200. Chrony shows 2898 fps for the TSX load but accuracy is sub 1/2". The 140 CTBT load exceeds 3K fps & is also sub 1/2". The TSX can exceed 3K fps w/o pressure signs but accuracy suffers.

Love my .280.
I don't know offhand the exact specs on my loads (buddy does it for me) but a long time ago we worked it up and its great. I know I use Hornady 139gr BTSP bullets, and it chrono'd a smidge over 3000fps, with 1/2" grouping at 100. The thing I like the most, the bullets perform VERY well. I've probably shot 75 deer with this load, and had stellar performance pretty much every time.
