BEST AMMO FOR WINFEATHERLIGHT 3006
 

Anyone have any suggestions for the best loads for my winfeatherlight 3006 bolt m70?
I' m hunting black bear and have shots up to 250 yards.
I bought some Federal 165 btsp and some winchester 180 silver tips. Are these good loads for this gun?
Just wondering if anyone that has a Mod 70 like mine and does a lot of shooting with it, has a personal preference of loads. I do have reloading equipment and dies for the 3006 but haven' t used it in over 15 years. Would the powder still be good? If none of my choices above are good what would be a good reload recipe for my mod 70 for bear at that range of 100 to 250 yards.

Id say they' re fine loads for deer and balck bear.

I have a rem mtn rifle w/22in barrel and I shoot the 165 sst loaded with IMR4350 @57.5 grs,you might want to try it if you want to reload again.Works great on deer for me.
