Powder Question
I am about to reload some ammunition for my 300 WM. I will be using 70-77 grains of RL 22.
If you guys use RL 22 for your 300 WM, what has been your "sweet" load with this powder? And, approximately, how many loads can I get out of a pound of powder? There is probably a way to figure it by grains/oz but I can't find it. Thanks, Trent |
No of grains in lb 7000 divided by 77 no used equals 90 gr.

When I owned my 300WM Remington Sendero RE-22 was the most accurate powder with the 200gr SMK bullets that I liked to shoot. I loaded approx. 1gr more than what the accuracy load in the Sierra Manual stated. It was a very accurate load. My rifle prefered heavier bullets over all.
I use RE-22 in my 280AI and my 6.5x55 Swede |
I use 76.3gr rl-22 in my 300 with 180gr. Accubonds with excellent velocity and accuracy.

I've had good luck with 75 grains underneath 180 grain Accubonds and Pro Hunters.

H4831 all day everyday. H4350 would be my next choice. Loads all depend on your how your rifle likes it. My 165 gr bullets like 77.3 grains of H4831. Velocity is 3180 fps but the accuracy real winner in this load.
