I loaded 308 for the wife. Can't recall what the charge was, but I was going for 30/30 velocity with 150 gr bullets. Worked out fine.

When my son was 12 and weighed about 75 lb. he shot his first deer with a 30-06. I loaded it up with 130 gr Hornady bullets and IMR4350 powder (the lightest load listed). That big old doe dropped like a sack of potatoes.
