Hi All,
New here.
I've mad up my mind to get a 270WBY Magnum in WBY MkV Accumark. I will be reloading for it. I've ordered a Forster Comp Seating die and FL die.
Any advice on reloading for belted magnums?
Does anyone else run one of these rigs?
Got any advice?
Thanks in advance

Most load programs say that 50,000psi is the limit. Is that the case with Weatherby rounds? I've read time and again that Roy designed his rounds to be high pressure screemers and that's why he designed the Weatherby action to be so strong.
Thanks

Weatherby factory ammo is said to be loaded to 71,000 psi.
Extremely slow burning powders are going to give you the most velocity in the 270WBY. Reloader 25, Retumbo, US869, Ramshot magnum, H1000, H4350, IMR 7828.

Worked up a load for my Uncle's Winchester Model 70 XTR Sporter (This was a push feed action not the pre-64 type). Using a 130 gr. Speer Spitzer SPBT bullet in front of 72.0 gr. of H4831 in a Weatherby case with a Federal 215 primer. Loaded round was .010" off the lands. Your Weatherby will have more free bore so you may not be able to approach the lands with the bullets you will be using. This load exceeded 3200 fps over my chrony & was an honest 3/8" grouper for 3 shots. Shots 4 & 5 would stray a little bit as the barrel warmed but it would drive tacks with the first 3 rounds everytime. You have a great setup and I would look to H4831SC, RL22, RL25, IMR7828, or H1000 for your rifle. Good luck and great shooting!

IMR 7828 will give you excellent velocity. I have worked up loads with Reloader 22 but they are 200 fps slower than the 7828. I am shooting 140 grain boattails and 150 grain with full power (for my rifle) loads. The 130's are clocking just over 3500 fps.I have played with the 270 bee for a long time, and like it very much. I neck size, and cut my cases .005 under chamber. It prefers hot loads, and will handle whatever task you give it.
