I was just wonding which bullet be best for 300 yrds. the gun I have is a remgton model 700 with 1;9 twist. The bullet is the hornady 162 gr btsp wit 56.2 gr or imr 4831. The othe is 139 gr sst. with 63.5 or imr 4831.

A 162gr bullet is fine for the 7mag, I use between a 140 and 160gr bullets out of mine. I have never used IMR4831, but have used H4831 and it shot good. I use RL22 out of mine now.

i shoot 150 grain nosler partitons out of my 7mm ruger m77 with 63 gr of IMR 4831 and it holds a 3 in group at 300. Rifle is set 3 in. high at 100 and is dead on at 300.

I use 62 grains of IMR4831 with 140g Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 7mm Rem Mag...which is a Remington 700 BDL (with a Remington Custom Shop Barrel on it)...it preforms well out to 250 yards...there is plenty of punch left to get well beyond 300, I've just shot it out beyond about 250.
