.22-.250 Loads?
 

Anyone know of any good loads for a .22-.250 using it for shooting long distances on Coyotes. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Most 22-250's I have shot will shoot with H380 and 55grn projectiles. I will not quote a load for this, but you can look them up and find more loads than you can shoot in a month!!! Try on H380, Varget or IMR 4064 and most 250's like the 50-55grn range. It will run you in the 3500-3700fps area. GREAT 'Yote slayers!!!!
If you are wanting more velocity, you can go the to 40-45grn area, but will gain more wind drift and loose energy at the longer distances.
You will also want to keep an eye on case length as you go. It will have to be trimmed more often the hotter you go for the brass flows more easily. Good shootn!!!!!

Mine likes 52gr Amax's and 38 grains of H-380. Perfect

I have found that a 50 grain SP hornady with 35 grains of 43 20 i think i would have to check works very well. So far i have had great success with this load i have shot out to 350 yrds and it is dead on but some guns may do different with different loads hope this helps

Mine loves varget and 55gr hornady ballistic tips.

i use 55gr. sierra blitzking's and speer 52gr. H.P. most shots for me are under 100yds. i hit a red squirrel once at 150yds with the H.P's and it was like a invisable foot kicked it. nothing left..

I load IMR 4320 @ 35.5 @ 3700 FPS for a 55 gr bullet - If you like more speed try the Nosler 40 gr @ 4000 fps.Either one ,you should have a group like this - (*) all three rounds should be touching.

I tried different gun powder's ,hodgdon 380, tight group powder, and bench mark I got 3/4 inch group but I was not satisfied with that but when I got VARGET everything changed a vendor at a gun show told me to try Varget power said it works for him. It took a while testing different load when I got it down to .365 three shot group at 100 yrds I got happy. I am a accuracy nut so I went back to the reloading lab in my house went back a few weeks later and I shot good groups all day. Good to Goooooder that my word when I get tight groups. All 3 shot group at 100 yards I shot a .381 group with .015 off rifling with 33.6 of varget. A .364 group with .015 off rifling with 33.5 of powder. A .347 group with .010 off rifling with 33.0 of powder. Then I got a .278 group with .020 off rifling with 33.9 gr of varget powder now you see why I say GOOOOODER. This was with 55 gr. sierra soft point, look at the grain's of powder, loading them hot gave me to much of a spread when I went to a medium load slowed the bullet down it got GOOOODER. Also look at seating depth of the load that is the key the gun will tell you what it likes. Test your seating depth first when your groups start shrinking then teak that evening more then play with your gun powder. I was doing just the opposite I tried different gun powder load hot load then medium then on the low . That why took me about a year off and on testing different load and was never satisfied . I keep all records of all my shooting when I went back and looked at all my data hot loads had a wide spread but I notice that when I change seating depth on different load things started to shrink. So then I started chasing bullet depth and this why works better and now I don't waste a lot of time testing different bullets and powder. Did it this way with my 7mm-08 and my first time going out I got a .533 group. Went out some weeks later and got it down to .388 group I was more than satisfied again it got GOOOODER.:wave: If you need more help hit me up at [email protected] maybe I can help you out...:guiness:
