anyone use bullets under 139gr's for whitetails in this caliber? shots could range from 40yds out to 300yds.

I am a big fan of the Barnes 120 grain TSX in my 7mm08....
With RL-15 my load averages about 3000 fps MV from the 22" barrel of my M700 mountain rifle.. Shoots essentially as flat as the .270/130 , is extremely accurate in my rifle and drops deer like lightning.. Another good choice in the 7mm08 is the Nosler 120 ballistic tip.. |
Hdy 120gr SPs are the lightest 7mm Ive used on deer....no complaints

120gr TSX w/RL15 is an awesome combo.

If the 139s shoot well out of your rifle they should do well for your needs. I would not hesitate to shoot a whitetail with my 7-08 at 300 yds using 139 gr Hornadys that it consistantly prints under 1" groups.
