.30-06 Elk Load

I' m looking for a good Elk Load recipe for my ' 06.
I' ve been using Hornady 180 gr. SP over 59.something gr. of IMR 4831. I' m not sure where I came up with this but I' ve used it for a while. The problem is that the particular bullet is harder to get than others so I' m wanting to do something different.

www.gun-tests.com/ go to Tools and Techniques, go to Ammo. There is a comparision of premuim bullets in the .30-06. Good info.
Any Barnes bullet. I was on the phone with Barnes a few days ago and they recommended the 168 gr. (triple shock) w/ the IMR4350 as the load most likely to yield the best results in the .30-06.

No I' m on the low cost plan. $30.25 for a resident. And since I like meat better than racks I' m hunting cows this year. I' m saving up preference points to go on a trophy hunt sometime next decade.

200 grain Nosler Part Jacket. 59 to 60 grains of H4831, MV 2650-2700 FPS; ME 3119 to 3240 Ft/Lb.

Nosler' s 180 Gr partician, or Hornady' s 190 Grain boattail interlock sounds good to me.

I was using the Barnes 168 gr XLC Bt but have switched to the 180 gr XLC BT at just a bit over 3000 fps . I haven' t tried them on elk yet but I have two tags his year so I have a feeling I will find out how they work .
