Sierra 165 gr SBT - 52.6 gr. IMR 4350 (2700 fps) - Energy/ft lbs 2671 - C.O.A.L. -3.330" or what ever O.A.L. your particular rifle shoots the best.
I' ve used the above recipe for years in my 30-06, on everything from whitetail to elk and bear. Only had a problem once dropping an elk with one shot and that was due to a poor shot placement with the first shot (hit him on the run at 225 yds and hit too far back with first shot)

I' m planning on trying Norma' s 180 gr. Oryx bullet this fall in handloads and accuracy is 1 inch at 100 yards, 1.5 inch at 200 yards and 2.4 inches at 300 yards in my Stainless Stalker.
