RE: Barnes bullets, WOW!
I shoot a few different bullets, but would only hunt with the X. In lighter loads you can use XBT and not worry about lack of penetration. In the larger bores, I haven' t been able to measure the actual penetration yet. My .416 has gone through my target box every time. I did ALOT of shooting with .300 winnie and the 165 xfb is noticably better than the 200 part.

RE: Barnes bullets, WOW!
My brother had talked to me about the Barnes bullets and how they were suppose to be good. I thought I should check it out and after ready on how everyone is expressing on the performance of these bullets I guess I’m going Barnes all the way. ;)

RE: Barnes bullets, WOW!
So for Elk would you go with the 180 gr. or the 165? I read somewhere that the 165 x performs like a 180 in another brand. I' ve always used 180 gr. Hornadys for elk and 165' s for deer but I' m changing over to x bullets this year due to all the good press I' ve been getting on them.

RE: Barnes bullets, WOW!
The 165 is a great bullet for elk. Although you couldn' t go wrong with either one.
