Crimp Necessary?

I have been loading for about 2 years with bolt guns and Ruger 1s. I have never crimped the case on any of these. I have a Browning BAR that I am beginning load development on. Is it necessary to crimp the case?

I crimp for leverguns and revolvers.

IMO it depends on the die/type of crimp.I crimp all loads using the Lee factory crimp die'.Cant beat it with a stick.

Crimp?

If ones dies are adjusted correctly crimp is unnecessary except on the heaviest recoiling cartridges.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!
