.243 woes
#1
buddy got a .243 in CVA.
Its acting really weird, after cleaning it will shoot so high its off the paper, next round will be come down 6" then next round another 2 next round maybe 2" then it will settle in on or around the 5th shot.
Any ideas.
The way I clean is patch solvent , then dry patches, then wet patch copper remover, then wet brush copper remover 10 strokes, then dry patches, then wet patch solvent, then dry patches, then wet oil patch, then dry patches.
My vanguard will shoot damn near on the money on first shot cleaning this way, im talking 3/4" off the next 3.

I read a review on the CVA Optima Elite in a magazine one time. The author bragged on the accuracy of the centerfire barrel, but mentioned that the gun was inconsistent until he loosened the forend screw. He said that once he took the screw out and returned it to just snug, the accuracy was outstanding.
Give that a try and see what happens
