Crimp Question
I am starting reloading shotgun shells this year with a nice mec 600 jr. we have, but I have one question that I have been trying to figure out, so I just want to see what you guys prefer....
6 or 8 crimps??? I have heard arguments for both, but I want to see what you guys think are better. Currently we reload Winchester AA and (mostly) Remington STS low brass. What say you? BigBuck95:hail::hail::hail::hail: |
Just use the same crimp the hull already has. There's no advantage to one over the other.

With new hulls, I don't know. I think I heard once that 6 point is easier, but my memory is what I forget with. |
6 finger crimps will not crimp as nice as the 8 finger crimps. A bad crimp could be a lost target if the pressure on the wad is incorrect because of the crimp. I'd stay with 8 fingered crimps with the red AAs or the STSs.
