Default 243 reloads for white tail deer.

Gentleman, I have a question for all you hard core hunters that hunt whitetails with the 243, what is the most accurate/ deadly combo you use in regards to powder/bullets ect? I hunted white tail last year with the 243 using Hornady 100 gr bullets and they were deadly, but my experience is limited with this caliber and any advice you all can give me would be appricated.
Thx .

The only thing I load is the Barnes 80gr TTSX and the barnes 85gr TSX bullets for hunting deer . They work great in my 243 & 6mm both .

I reload 90gr PSPs over 414. Quite deadly in my Stevens 200.

This past season i loaded the Hornady 100gr BTSP for my daughters 243 and she killed two deer that dropped on the shot so i was happy with those results. My brother loads the Sierra 100gr Pro hunter for his and has killed a ton of deer with that bullet so i know thats also a good one. However, if the Hornady is working well for you then i would stick with it.

I use 95 Gr Nosler Ballistic Tips or 95 Gr Nosler Partitions, with either IMR 4350 or Hodgdon Varget, both are very accurate and deadly.

I use a ,243 off and on for deer hunting. All the deer (3-4) I have shot with the .243 have been with 85 grain Nosler Partitions. Thye have all ran 20-50 yards after heart/lungs shots. The shots have ranged between 44 and 110 yards.

I probably would try the 85 grain Barnes TSX if I used the rifle more, I carry a 7mm-08 or a .30-06 more often.
