Larry may be on the abrasive side but he is very knowledgeable and has some good advice and always more than happy to respond if asked for help or advice.

It's a pain how the mods erase his stuff. If it's vulgar, then just erase that part. I've followed some of his other threads and it's like reading a book with half the pages ripped out. Anyway, I think he knows his schit, and their are some people jealous of his knowledge. The abrasive stuff is just the way some people are. Unless you know a mans story, you have no right to judge him.....

Enough of the mushy crap, I'm just trying to buy a new gun.....

You can load it down pretty far. You can use the H-4895 60% rule.

As for accuracy, who knows. For short ranges, sub moa accuracy isn't needed anyway.

Just wondering if I'd be able to get the best of both worlds. Guess I'd be going backwards from the trend of every trying to get faster.

If you are looking to reduce recoil or extend barrel life you can look in the manuals for the lightest charge listed. Typically a faster burning powder with the min starting load will minimize recoil and velocities and perform similar to smaller capacity cartridges.

As accuracy pursuits go,there's some constants, one of which is operating at or near a cartridge's full potential in regards to pressure. ES drops, consistency is realized and that gear selection bears the most fruit.

A guy is always gonna do his best with a chambering he can handle well and that means loaded at/near potential(to eek the inherent mechanical attributes associated) and that less a brake or other silly fanfare. Less,is simply so very often more.

Think bullets first, keep schitt real and never bullschitt yourself. A 243Win Today, trumps yesterday's '06 and most folks can't wrap their minds around such obvious notions.

Killing is easy.

7mm is the bullet, how fast to get it at game under 300 lbs. and what to ignite it with is the problem.

I once reluctantly downloaded a 30-378 with 4598 pushing a 165gr bt at 2900fps. It was sad seeing a weapon designed for one thing being used in such a manner.

The 7-08 will do just that to 1400yds at sealevel.

Thats the problem, its easy. What fun is that? Much rather "hunt" an animal who gets within 8 yards of you, and every move you make is critical.

Big is big...little ain't.

I am into "fun" and challenges. Some folks are "posers" (you can't respect a horn porn poser) and want to take pictures and make sure all see them. Others are more secure in themselves and do it for the challenge. They do it for themselves not needed the pat on thier back.

Either way, a person has a choice. God bless em all and glad I live in a country where a person can "hunt" with a selfbow they made themselves, or snipe a animal at 1400 yards.
