Identify 162 grain BT Spitzer?

I have an old box labeled 162 Nosler BT Spitzer, (284), but the Nosler site doesn't list them.

I searched the Net and only found 160 grain. Hornady has a 162 gr. BT Spitzer, but it's not the bullet I have.

I bought these bullets in 1990. Has Nosler stopped making the 162 gr. BT Spitzer, or do I have a weird box?

Two things you could try.

1) Join the Nosler forum and ask the question. The Tech's frequent the site regulary and you will get your answer.

2) Post a pic of the bullet here and someone may reconize it.

I have tested a ton of 284 bullets in my 7MM and never came across a Nosler bullet in that grain weight. Hornady is the only one I know of.

Here's a better photo of two 7mm bullets.

The one on the left I have logged as 7mm 160gr Nosler Spitzer.

The bullet on the right is the bullet in question. I logged as 7mm 162gr Nosler BT. It's the one I can't match to any Nosler bullet listed on the Nosler or Hornady site.

That is why I love these forums. The core group of guys who frequent this part of the forums is very helpful and knowledgeable. There are a few weeds in the garden though and the Mods are usually pretty quick to weed them out, although it seems that a couple are able to get sprouted again pretty quickly lol.:s5:

if you are dead set on using 162 grainers i believe hornady makes a 162 grain interlock.
