It.s been a long time since I loaded any 3" . It is just a simple adjustment of the final crimp as I recall . Then a charge bar suitible for use with steel . I have a pair of universal charge bars that are the answer and well worth the $35 I paid for them .

I have the Steelmaster which I think is similar. Mine has a plate that fits underneath the shell at the crimp start and final crimp station. There are spacers that screw into the bottom. If you have those parts laying around.
Actually, all your questions should be answered here: http://www.mecreloaders.com/document...sizemaster.pdf Edit: As for powder, Alliant Steel has the best performance, but it is very difficult to work with. You have to weigh every charge. There is no way around this that I know of. On the other hand, Ballistic Products has some recipes for Longshot powder. Some of these recipes are in the 1600-1700 fps range. This powder is easy to load, but is a little touchy with the pressure. If you go to the ballistic products website, the recipes are online. They also sell the steel shot wads, and steel shot. |
