Chrono suggestions
Well at the range by my house where I have been shooting, it is covered. I can reach the skylight with a 15ft cord I think. Not sure which avenue to go. I can upgrade my F1 to a Alpha master for 50 dollars with a remote screen or buy the bullistic printer for 85 dollars. Has anyone had any problems or suggestions. Please, no suggestions for Oehler. Thanks

RE: Chrono suggestions
Where I shoot it' s an outdoor range that' s covered, I haven' t had any problems with my F1 positioned 8-10' in front of the bench. The only thing that I' ve had to do is take the shades off as the shade moves past the chrony. If I feel the itch to get picky enough to know the velocity of every rnd. I' ll invest in the upgrade and by the printer.

RE: Chrono suggestions
Well, I like to work up loads using velocity as a data point along with groups. I have found that a very accurate load at 100 yards might have a large std dev. in velocity. Then when you shoot 600 yards or more, now you have to worry about not only spread from the group, but now vertical stringing. So for a deviation of 50ft/sec. that can open your groups up 4 more inches at 600 yards. So it is a part of my load workup routine. Its not really the shade that hurts me but the lights under the shed. They put off that 60hz tone which as you know makes a chrono go nuts. Thanks, I went ahead and ordered the printer.

RE: Chrono suggestions
I should have mentioned that when I set the chrony up it is not under the cover, I think you got the gist though. The printer should do the trick for you and allow you to see each velocity at the bench. I bought the remote that allows you to cycle through the recorded velocities although I can' t always see it from behind the bench.
