Was it factory ammo, or handloads with Core Lock bullets?

Kinda hard to say, Zrex..... Did the factory ammo chamber easily, or did it load hard? And you're real sure the chamber is 7mm-08, and using that ammo too, I guess...
Had the gun been shot before this time, and if so, were any problems experienced? Was the bore cleaned out well before you shot it, if this was the first time it was fired? A bore with heavy oil protection in it could build pressure, I would think, and cause "problems"....
Perhaps a gunsmith should take a look at it.....

Sounds like excessive pressure but that shouldn't be the case with factory ammo.If possible pull a bullet and check the charge weight with the ammo maker. It's possible they might have screwed up.Otherwise it's likely a problem with the gun.Either way I wouldn't shoot until I know whats wrong.

Hehehe yes I am REAL sure we used the right ammo. The box he shot before was winchester SBT and he said he didint have that problem. He shot the whole box of rem that day so I dont have any of that box to check, I did look at the cases after firing and couldnt see any sighns of pressure but that sure is what it seems like. The BT's grouped a whole bunch better than this box of Rem.
I do know he cleaned the barrel a bunch to get the moly out of it, maybe he left oil in it I dont know.
