7mm-08 Reloading

Hi All,

I am new to the HuntingNet community and also reloading. I am looking for any advice on reloading for 7mm-08.

I would appreciate any thoughts on powdersand bullet heads to use.

Thank you

I get excellent sub moa groups from my SAKO using a 150 grain PP (winchester) sitting on 47 gr of I 4350. 47.5 shows preasure signs and is WARM. If I was going to start working a load I would start around 44.5 to 45 grains of powder and never at someone elses max
Hope this helps

My Rem. 700 CDL really shoots well with 140 gr. Nosler Accubonds and 48 gr. IMR 4350. It shot superbly well with 46 gr. IMR 4350, but I opted for a little more speed with the 48.0 gr. charge which also gave respectable groups of 1" @ 100 yds. As the previous poster noted, loads given are for the individual's own gun. Your gun may or may not shoot that load as well. In any case, consult your reloading manual for load info per bullet and powder weights. If you do not have a good manual, and I recommend the Lyman book, be sure and get one before you do ANYTHING. The load that I described above is at or near max and should be approached with caution. Always start at the beginning and work slowly upwards.
I apologize if you already have read about or have a good basic knowledge of reloading. However, without knowing a little bit about your experience level, I hope you are not offended by my cautioning you a little bit.......

My current favorite load features the Barnes 120 TSX over RL-15 ...

I've also had excellent results with the Nosler 140 BT and IMR 4064....

For newbies and oldsters, I'd recommend they look at the powder companies reloading data on the internet. Save you a little money. Rather than buying a manual for every bullet company.

And keep within the recommended ranges, and work up toward the max. Perhaps not even getting to max. I find all my accurate loads are less than max.

Finally, if you want a magnum in a 7mm cartridge, buy a magnum rifle. Don't try it on the back of regular rifle cartridges.
