Cast .45-70 ?
Hey guys,
I have some lead cast bullets that were made my Leadheads.com. They've got the copper gas check and the wax in between the ribs of the bullet. If some of the wax is missing in some places will that affect the bullet to any great extent? How about if the missing pieces are off set? Thanks Tom |

RE: Cast .45-70 ?
I know myself, I like to replace the lube on bullets when it dries out or falls off. As long as its not dried out, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are, you can contact leadhead and find out what bullet lube they use.
Worst it could do is cause leading at high velocity. |

The 45/70 is one of those rounds forwhich it just makes sense to work up a good cast-bullet load. Its' velocities, of up to 2200 FPS or so, just don't require jacketed bullets.......
