Need a New Scale

Hey guys,

I've been using the Lyman 1000 scale for a while now. To keep this brief it's a piece.

So I need a new scale. I'd like to stay away from electronic because I had a really bad experience with the Lyman electronic scale.

I'd like a scale that is accurate and heavy so it won't move. I also want each graduation to represent a number not like on my lyman where 65 gr is at the top of a peak. If that makes any sense.

So which one do you recommend?

Thanks

Tom

Why do you not like the 1000 magnetic? Is it not accurate? Has hysteresis issues? Or just too light and moves?

I reccomend people get a proof scale check wieghts. confidense is everything.

TheCabela's rating on the Lyman 1000 scale is not good.

My apology.

Lyman equipment is usually of the best quality.

Yes at one time I owned this scale and what they are saying on Cabelas is true. That is why I traded it for a Lyman 1000 balance beam.

However the numbers don't even line up with the peaks and valleys where the counter weights go.

Then yes it is too light and moves around etc....

So any suggestions?

Tom

BC,

I believe you once told me that you have an RCBS 1010 is that correct?

Do all of the numbers line up with a notch in the rail where the counter weight goes?

Thanks

Yea, can't complain with it. I also have a 505 scale and use it about the same much. But they are all pretty light and feel kinda cheap.

Thats the reason, I have a scale kit with prewieghed precision wieghts.
