Solitary I have had identical results on two elk. The mushrooms were very large and the bullets weighted in at 137 and 156 grains for the 165 grain 30 cal interbond. Both recovered bullets hit shoulder bone on the way in and still fully penetrated the body only the skin kept them from passing thru. I also had 2 bullets exit that did not hit bone and the large exit wound made it very clear the bullet was fully expanded. I was a little nervous using a 165 on elk but the high weight retention and pentration of this bullet actually exceeded my expectations. I estimate my impact velocity to be 2850 also.
