how many rounds do you carry when hunting?

RE: how many rounds do you carry when hunting?
When hunting with my ML, I have one in the barrel and 2 or 3 more charges in my pocket. I've never used more that 2 shots in any one session. When I go up to Minnesota next Friday for rifle season, I'll probably just carry a full mag of 4 rounds with me in the stand, with a couple boxes in the truck. I figure that if I shoot all 4 in one session, I'll have plenty of time to walk back to the truck to get reloads, because the deer will be dead or long gone anyway.

I've got one of those cheezy rifle stock sleeves that hold 9 rounds. Not that I'll ever need 9, but that's what they had at Walmart for $4 so I bought it and figure if I have the space to carry 9 right on the gun why not?

I usually carry at least 5 for the bolt action. 3 or 4 in the mag, plus one or two in my pocket. With the 30-30 I usually load 5 or 6 in the tube. I figure that it is very rare to ever get more than 2 shots off, but if I miss clean I want a chance at another since I am going to finish my walk anyways. Around here the deer are shot at so much that you cant rule out seeing another on the way back to the house...

I tote around 3 in the mag with a handful in my pack JIC. I always carry spares in the truck though, been known to bust a few @ yotes. Dad taughtus to be prepared.
