RE: looking for brass
Seems there's a shortage in the States too, from what I've seen on several other sites.
I sold my brass a while back to a guy in the same boat as you, and he was tickled to get it. Specific brass is not made every day, 365. They'll do a run of 300 RUM production for a while then change outmachinery to run another chambering. RUM's are not everyone's choice so what is made issomewhat limited regardingthe production quantity, and is made in a short amount of time. When they decide to get back around to making more, there will be some somewhere...you'll just have to snag it if you can. Hopefullythey will be clued in on the shortage and make up for it. |
RE: looking for brass
well I decided to call the cabela's store itself and they have a bit left...they are holding it for me until I get there on Saturday

RE: looking for brass
I have about 200 pieces of 300RUM brass that has been fired 3 times. But I don't think I can ship it to Canada. It needs annealed too IMO. I don't shoot 300RUM anymore.

I am checking everywhere. I have had them on order from wholesale sports since March....still not in.
Cabela's store called last night and they are showing 500 in stock but can't find them. |
RE: looking for brass
Have you checked with Cabela's ( S.I.R.) in Winnipeg ? I can give them a call when they open and get back to you...

RE: looking for brass
Should be a clue as to how Reminton is supporting the RUM cartridge.
Can you guys remember the 6.5 Rem. Mag. , 8mm Rem. Mag. , 350 Rem Mag. .... |
RE: looking for brass
ORIGINAL: Mojotex Should be a clue as to how Reminton is supporting the RUM cartridge. Can you guys remember the 6.5 Rem. Mag. , 8mm Rem. Mag. , 350 Rem Mag. .... Lower demand for RUM's compared to other chamberings dictates a lesser degree of production which affects availability. When production resumes it'll be there again. Another aspect is the Feds get all of their ammo from private contractors and guess what, Remington is a private contractor. We seem to be involved in a war right now, in case you didn't notice, and I'm gonna take wild stab at it and say that the need for war production supercedes anything in the private sector...... |
RE: looking for brass
I don't think the 300 RUM is going away anytime soon. If it was, why would Remington be developing the Power Level Ammo for the 300 RUM? The Brass is out of production until the retool for another 300 RUM run.
