IMR 4831...Opinions and uses?
I have never tried any of it but got a good deal on a couple of pounds of it today and bought it. What do you guys use it for and how do you like it? I have used the H-4831sc but not the IMR.

Use it for my .270, 7-08, 7 mm mag, and my 30-06. I've never had a difficulty using it and my rounds are very consistant. Let us know how it works for you. The sort of rectangular containers it comes in makes it store in my reloading cabinate better than the round Hodgen powders. Small point but something I've noticed.

I think this will work out well cause the calibers you guys listed the most are what I bought it for. 270, 7-08, 30-06 and maybe a few 243's. Thanks a lot!

Because I don't shoot much overbore stuff, if I could only have one or two powders they would have to be IMR 4831 and H 4831 + (sc) Consistent, stable, accurate- what more can a guy want.
Occasionally a powder here or there will offer a little more velocity, but rarely have I seen a powder that offers such consistent accuracy with good velocity as the 4831 family.
