338wm powders/primers

Hey all just couldn't pass so I am an owner of a 338wm and looking for inputfor loads. With therifle I got dies, brass (WIN) and 2 full box's of 225gr Nosler Accubonds. Most likely try somebarnes TSX 210gr's, but well see how the 225's fly first. Use will be elk and moose. Though won't rule out trying it on deer either if she shootswell just for S&G's:D.

What powder? I have H & IMR 4350 & 4831, IMR 7828 & RL22. I have very little RL19 leftwhich I am hoping to get the call its finally in but won't be holding my breath either. (Alliant in Saskatchewan has been the sheets the past few years[:'(]).

What primer? 215GMM or WLR both stocked (just ran out of 210GMM's[:@]).

Any info is appreciated:D

FYI LH Browning Abolt SS Stalker (26") no boss

For primers, stick with the WLRM. I never tried the 225 grain in mine, but had excellent success with the 200 grain Hornady, 250 grain Hornady and the 275 grain Speer. I found a light load in the 200 grain that would shoot a ragged hole all day. As the charge was increased, the group opened up, until I got it hot, then, it tightened right up again. The 250 grain wouldn't shoot worth a hoot, until I got it hot as well. Same for the 275 grain. I found IMR 4831 to be excellent for the 338.

Have you looked in a Nosler loading manual to see what combo worked "best" for them with "there" bullet? That would be my first stop...

Been trying like the devil to get 210 gr. Nosler Partitions to shoot in my Model 70 XTR with no luck. Went through IMR 4350 and RL 19. CCI 250 LRM primers. I'm going to try 4831 next, and if that doesn't shoot, I'm going to have to change bullets. I'd like to get this worked out before the weather turns warm, so my development will be at temps. I'd be hunting in. That may or may not happen, tho...... The only difference between shooting a whitetail with the .338 and having it get run over by a truck is that there are no tire tracks......
