Blanks

This may seem a bit odd but i am at a mental block. I was asked this evening to load some blanks for him to use while training his new pup. He wanted something pretty quiet so i remembered shooting just a primer without anyhting else and it is quiet so ive got that handled. But then he wants something between the primer blank and a trap or hunting load. I figured i could load about 10 grains of powder, but im lost as what to put in the wad? I really dont want to use lead when its only used as a low noise training round. I had the idea of bird seed or the like but im not sure it itll work or not. Its in a 12ga. and ive got a ton of extra 1 oz wads and bunches of old hulls. What would be a good filler material? and i guess mainly will it work?

Probably anything. I think I'd try just a wad of kleenex to begin with. But doing screwy things like this for other people worries me. If something goes wrong or they try some idiot twist on what you did, guess who will get the blame.

I had thought about that too, the primer loads do not concern me, the others do slightly, that is partially the reason i brought this to the public. I think i may tag along while he uses them just to make sure, also ill be loading a few extras and testing them myself first.
