Default Good loads for 300 RUM

Anyone have a good recipe for the 300 RUM. I have been loading with retumbo and h1000 getting decent groups 3/4 to 1 inch with 150gr bt spitzers. Also has anyone loaded a 110gr bullet and will it group?

I helped a buddy out yesterday with his, ended up with 100.5gr of Retumbo, 180gr Hornaday SST, Remington 9 1/2m primer, we didnt have a chronny set up, but had a three shot group in one ragged little hole, all three were covered by a dime.

My goto load for 300RUM is 180gr partition and 94gr of H1000. I have seen it work in several rifles. I couldn't imagine loading for anything smaller than 165gr for 300RUM. I would just load for 30-06 or 308 for anything ligher.

Bigcountry, the only reason I ask about the 110gr is I like shooting coyotes and hornady list the load in their reloading book, I dont think it would be that great, but if you could get it to group decent then it might be a cool pill for coyotes! I shot one in the head with my rum using the same load you listed above but with a 180 nosler ballistic tip at about 250 yards, It took her bottom jaw off and broke her neck! I just wonder how explosive the 110gr would be!

here is a couple more. 150Gr Hornady IB with 103g of Reloader 25
200gr Nosler Accubond with 94.5g of Reloader 25.

All of my bullets are moly coated just as an FYI. Buddy and I have actually pushed the 130gr Barnes out to 106g of Retumbo

Wish some of your guys were near me. I have two pounds of retumbo, I don't use. Trying to find someone that needs it.

Remington 700CDL with a 26"barrel, factory rifle with the action bedded, barrel floated and of coarse a trigger job topped off with a Loupold VXIII. It definatly shoots better than I thought it would!.
