Heavy Bullet .223 Powder
On of my buddies is having fits with the 75 gr. Hornady A-Max bullet. Trying to seat it in a fast twist .223 so the overall length will fit in an AR-15 magazine. The best powders are being compressed severely. Any ideas on this one?

What powder is he using there? I would suggest Varget or H335

RE: Heavy Bullet .223 Powder
Most folks I know of, that run the 75gr A-Max in the .223, are using H335 and seating them to touch the lands on their bolt actions. When I loaded them for my AR, it was a single shot endeavor.

Single loading is the way to go.
If you are loading 75 gr bullets, its most likely thatyou are looking at doing longer range shooting anyway. |
RE: Heavy Bullet .223 Powder
75gr AMax is not designed to be AR mag loaded.

RE: Heavy Bullet .223 Powder
Exactly. Varget should give you great results.

RE: Heavy Bullet .223 Powder
60 gr VMax and Varget will work well. If you are dead set on heavier bullets, 69gr Sierra MK or 77 gr Sierra MK.
