I have some 44 cal bullets tips that have been sitting around for a while and have a few greens spots here and there. will it ruin the tips if I tumble them?

You stand a chance of deforming the bullet by tumbling.Better to use a rag with a little brasso to remove the tarnish.

I have cleaned all brass or jacketed bullets with no problems ,but I've never tried any with exposed lead . You might try one or two just to see what it does first .

Why not, Lyman sells a mollying kit that runs in the tumbler for molly coating bullets.

Probably won't do much of anything if you have a vibrating type tumbler but one that rolls around and around may beat them up some, depending how hard they are. Also there are tails of the rolling style tumblers actually causing a bullet to fire but I doubt it's likely.

IIRC however, it seems that the chemical to polish the brass actually turns the lead dark.

Unless the corrosion is really bad, probably the best thing to do is just move this ammo up in the firing order, shoot it next and then go back to tumbling cases.
