I have been using 165gr gamekings for years. No complaints. Also 165gr ballistic tips are a good choice. And both are fairly cheap.

I just finished with working on some loads. looked in my bullet box. I am running low on hornady .30 cal 150gr interlock. I am wanting to try other brands. I am a low volume handloader maybe at most 50 rounds every few months, so cost is a factor.
any ideas?

there are a lot of people that think this is a varmit load but i have taken deer like crazy with this load. it is a nosler 125gr ballistic tip with 53.5grs of imr 4320. real accurate and pretty flat at 3157 feet per second acording to my cronograph.

i used the 150 gr. Hornady SST for several years and loved them. i gave some to a buddy of mine who is a former army scout sniper and he loved them. said they were the best loads he has shot since he was active duty. we have both made 450+ shots and never recovered a bullet. i was pushing them at 3000fps. last year he shot a medium size doe at 225yds or so and all he had was a shoulder shot. blew clear through.

Corey-----Have you thought about the Rem Cor Loc's that Midway
sells. They are a pretty decent bullet for deer if that is what your
for..If your trying to make target loads, then you might want to
be looking at some of the match grade bullets..But,you said cost
was a factor..So I think I would check out those Cor Loc's....[8D][8D]

I haven't bought anything other than Barnes X bullets since about 1996-1997. We load them in 308 Win, 30-06, 7mm Mag, 300 Win and 300 Wby. For deer we use the 150gr Triple Shocks now. They are $32 for 50 at Cabela's.
