.40s&w/ 10mm
I am looking to start reloading some handgun bullets for my .40s&w but have a problem. I was going to order the bullets out of a catalog but all they have are 10mm listed. It states the dia. size of the 10mm as .401". I thought the .40cal had a bullet dia. of .401" or am I wrong? Do they have the same bullet just different cases? Can I buy the 10mm bullets and reload them in a .40cal case or will I have problems?
Thank you much Chris Detroit, MI |
RE: .40s&w/ 10mm
You are correct. The bullets are the same, it's the case that is different. The 40 cal. case is shorter than one chambered for a 10mm.
Talk about coincidence! I really haven't bothered to look into the handgun loads, for some reason I decided to read the 40 cal intro in Nosler's reloading guide yesterday, which covered just this topic. Edited by - calnewbie on 01/22/2003 17:55:46 |
RE: .40s&w/ 10mm
I like the 40 S&W. I have had several. I had both of the Glock models in 40 and the Glock in 10mm. I also had a 610 S&W revolver which shot both 40 and 10mm with the use of half moon clips. Great Guns All.
