RE: I'm looking for a shell loader for my son?

I assume you are talking about loading shotgun shells? If so, start him with a Lee Loader in the appropriate gauge, or one of the lower-cost MEC tools.

Keep yore powder dry!!

Get a MEC loader. They load a good shell, they are easy to use, and you can't get too messed up.

My advise would be to get the Mec and forget the Lee . Its a lot easier to operate and turns out a better quality shell . I have owned both and there is no comparison .

the lee loader isnt good but it is cheap and i have used one, and i have used a mec600jr. the mec is better but is it 3 times better? depends on how much money youve got. if it aint going to break you then get a mec. if its all you can afford get a lee
