RE: .223
here's a load i've used in several .223 rifles....it's a good load for me
small rifle primer any case 27.5 grains BL-C(2) Speer 50 gr TNT |
RE: .223
Here's one
40gr Sierra Blitzking Rem. 71/2 primer 26.5grs AA2230 or 27grs H335 Win, Rem, LC, etc, brass doesn't make much difference. Shot about 700 rounds through a Savage 10FP and never had a group go over 1/2" MOA. Rem. 222 |

RE: .223
My .223 has a 1/14" twist, being a rechambered M722 .222 Rem. I use 24.5 grains onf IMR 3031 with a Sierra 55-grain flat-based bullet for 3350 FPS from a 26" tube. This shoots most bullets through the same hole @ 100 yards. It will not shoot boattials well, and GI loads are awful!!
Keep yore powder dry!! |
RE: .223
Bullet: 50gr Hornady sxsp, 50 gr Vmax
Case: random Primer: Federal match Charge: 27.5 gr W748 Max Cart. Length: 2.272", seated .020" off the lands Gun: Savage 112 26" heavy tube Pretty much identical results from each bullet, with the Vmax performing better at 200 yds, haven't tried from the 300 yd line yet. Haven't chronied this load but estimate to be around 3250 fps maybe a little faster. THIS LOAD IS DEVASTATING ON GROUND HOGS AT 200-275 YDS. 275 being my longest shot to date. |
