I have to brag.

Being new to reloading, I have to do some bragging. I loaded some .308 bullets and shot a three shot group at 100 yards through one hole. I could not believe it! I thought I somehow missed to 2nd and 3rd shots when I got to the target, there were three circles overlapping making a triangle. I never thought reloading would make that much difference. That is fun.

Welcome to 'Reloading Addicts Anonymous'. I would like to introduce our newest member WThunter. LOL That's how we all get addicted to it. Congratulations. I hope you wrote down every detail of that load. Seems that you have found your magic formula. How about posting it. Maybe it would work for others here.

I did log the info. I am using 180 gr siera gameking, 40 grains IMR 4064, rem. primer, rem. brass. I took it right out of Noslers reloading manual 5th edition. It may a little heavy bullet but I bought them to use in my 300 win mag also. It is all I have right now. I want to load some other bullets and see how they perform.

Now that you're addicted, you'll need to get a chrono so you can see what kind of velocity you're getting.

I know! I need to get a chrono! I have several loads I want to try. This could get expensive! But it is fun. I want to see what a 125 grain bullet will do in my 300 win mag.

You can get a close estimation of the velocity using this formula.
charge in grains divided by maximum charge then multiply by the listed velocity. This will not be exact but will be close. Of course a chrony will be better, especially if you are after more than just good field accuracy.
