New Reloading Kit - Which Kind?
OK. I am planning on getting a reloading kit in the near future. What is the best manufacturer? I know a lot of you use RCBS presses/products, and some use Lee and Lyman and Hornady. Which is the best? Which kit do you recommend as having the most useful components that will last? Which is the best for the money? Is there a "Cadillac" among reloading presses? Should you mix components from different manufacturers? What components/tools are absolutely indispensible? Which are good to have?
I'm thinking of the Redding Boss or Big Boss Deluxe Kit. What do you all think of that? Good Dogwork and Good Hunting Edited by - seattlesetters on 01/06/2003 23:21:57 |
RE: New Reloading Kit - Which Kind?
I hope everyone comes back and says "RCBS" because I placed my order for the Rock Chucker kit and the accessory kit this morning! I'll be loading for my 270WSM and 30-06.

What does the "RCBS" stand for...Does the RC stand for Rock Crusher?
I am in the same situation and was going to purchase a used reloader and someone said I should look into buying a new Rock Crusher or Orange Crusher. What is the difference? Is this good advice? |

No denying that RCBS is some quality equipment. For the money I would go with the Lyman Tmag press.

RCBS, or Forster Precision Products. Good luck.

RE: New Reloading Kit - Which Kind?
Rcbs makes one of the best kits put out in my opinion. Dillon precision also makes a good press and is considered by some to be the cadillac . That said the rockchucker kit is the way I would go and has everything except the dies to get you started . I own a Dillon and two Rcbs presses so that helps form my opinion.
The only experience I have with the Redding press is one of my friends in Ca loaded with one . It wasn't fast enough for him so he went to the Dillon 650 .He was shooting over a thousand rounds of 45 ACP a week doing speed shooting .The Redding loaded good ammo but just not fast enough for him. |

Is there an Orange Chucker or Orange Crusher?
