RE: 30-06 powder
For over 20 years I have loaded 47gr. of IMR-3031 using the Hornady 150gr. BTSP.
With my Rem. 700 ADL.This load shoots cloverleafs at 100 yds. & is accurate out to 300 yds. (this is the longest range I am able to try).
I have taken at least a dozen deer with this load and never saw a need to try anything else.

I did look in the Hornday book but it don't show that powder for the 30-06, for the 150 BTSP Hornaday. Is there some other book that about the same for the 150 BTSP hornday I could use. I know I can use itfor the 7mm ,162 BTSP horndayTHANKS MR. SLIM please let me know.

Most folks overlook IMR-3031 when re-loading the .30-06: i think this is a mistake.I use 3031 exclusively with 150 grain and lighter bullets. My lightest charge of3031with the Sierra Game King bullet is 46.2 grains, the heaviest is over50 grains with the 150 grain Sierra BTSP.Have killed over 125deer withmy 3031 handloads over the past 40 years.
This group was fired several years ago from my Remington 700.

RE: 30-06 powder
One of the great things about the 30/06 is it's ability to use many different bullets and many different powders. IMR 4831 is better suited for heavier bullets. Right around the 180 grain bullet weight, IMR 4831 starts showing good performance. My suggestion for is a slightly faster powder for 150 grain pills, such as H4350.
