Question about Nosler Solid Base and Ballistic Tips..

My new SPS in 7-08 just absolutely hates the Nosler Solid Bases I loaded for it. My next loading was gonna be the Ballistic Tips but I have read they are essentially the same bullet. Is this true or would you go ahead and load some up? Havent tried Varget yet but I tried the Solid bases with both IMR4350 and RL-19. So far the gun loves factory core lokts (LOL Now theres a surprise) and the 139 Hornady SP's. Have some Speer 130's to try as well. Is there gonna be enough difference to try the Ballistic Tips or is it a lost cause since it barfed the Solid Bases?

Thanks RR I remember you telling me before they were the same but I think I'll go ahead and try them anyways...lol. That way I can remove all doubts. This gun seems to like heavier loads where the old one would show pressure signs at the middle loads in the manual. I guess since I started this I am gonna hav eto get a chrony. I know what the book says they should be doing but Im sure most folks cant touch those numbers in the real world..lol.

Even the accubond and ballistic tip shoot slightly different in my rifles. If the solid base and ballistic tip were identical except for the polycarbonate tip,the ballistic tips would be lighter. To weigh the same, there must be some differences.

You are right, as far as it goes. But the BT does NOT have thewall (partition) in the middle and two separate cores. It has a solid gilding metal base, however......

The partition is what gives the NP its' outstanding performance.
