Anybody buy nosler brass?
I am my 4th fire of 300winmag brass. And figure I better get some more. I have been shooting nickel winchester. I dont' partitularlly like nickel coated but it was given to me, and I have a nice load for it.
So having trouble finding the nickel for sale, so I figure if I am going to start over with a load, might as well try out some quality brass. |

I've been using it some and I like it a lot. It comes virtually fully prepped and weight sorted. I still prefer Lapua, though.

RE: Anybody buy nosler brass?
I have loaded a fair amount of nickel plate for my 300WM, since this is what the original Federal Premium ammo came with. The nickel plate seems to add brittleness or something, and does not last as long. I purchased a die from http://www.larrywillis.com/that is supposed to resize the area just above the belt, which is an area that tends to give out after a few reloads. I have not used this device long enough yet to report any benefit.
In addition, my Dad's 300WBY (Winchester M70) would seem to have a hard time ejecting nickel brass, but is fine with regular brass. I only purchase regular brass now, usually Winchester. |

Thinks I am just going to go with a new 100 pieces of winchester regular brass. I just don't have the heart to pay 100 dollars for 100 pieces of brass. I would like to try the nosler, but thats alot.

RE: Anybody buy nosler brass?
I bought some for my 243 and I saw no benefits from the Nosler brass that justified the cost difference between the Remington brass I was using.

RE: Anybody buy nosler brass?
Have you got any idea who makes the brass for Nosler??? I would like to know. If I were you I would buy it quick. I talked to a friend of mine who owns a small reloading shop. He told me his primer prices went up 20% on Thursday. He also said his supplier told him to expect the next bag of shot to retail for $48 in a couple of weeks. WOW.
Midway has Winchester on sale for $19.99 for 50. Tom. |
