IMR 4831 has been my best load. I was just looking at my chronograph book and I see that I started with 44.5 grains of this powder with the Hornady 140 grain SP. I worked up to 47.0 grains which I have written down was to hot for that gun with velocities near 2900 fps. 46 grains averages 2762, the most accurate was 45 grains. No pressure signs and sub one inch group which I also have written that this was with a poor rest. For some reason I don't have my COL listed which I usually do. I shoot almost nothing but the Hornady 140 grain bullet.

Of course only your rifle can tell you what is best, but R-22 is a very popular powder for the 6.5 swede. I have two swedes a CZ and a Win M70 and both did very very well with R-22 and 140gr Partitions. Right now I am using DP 86 in both of these rifles with outstanding results, to bad it is no longer available. When my supply runs out I will go back to R-22.

I've used imr4895 and 87 gr speers with decent results. Never got around to putting a real good scope on mine and traded it off before I got a load perfected with the 120 gr bt's. 140 gr sierra's are almost always a good choice.

I have read a good bit about the 6.5. The N-165 is suppose to really help it out. N-165 gave me 5% more velocity in my 6.5X284. It is suppose to do the same in your 6.5. This is what I have been reading-I must say that I personally have not done it. Tom.

I shoot 140 gr rem corelokts or 140 Gr smks over 45-46.5 gr of RL-22.
