Really depends on my game. I am getting ready to go elk hunting next year on Santa Rosa Island, and I have to use barnes, no lead allowed. For deer, prefer sierra gamekings for slower rounds like my 7mm-08, 308. For my 270, I like bullistic tips or accubonds. For my big game guns like 300win mag, RUM, or STW, I like accubonds, or partitions. They have seemed to cause more damage than barnes X or TSX for me. I also like to use Swift A-frames for moose. But very expensive. For varmit rounds, I like V-max, bullistic tips, or gamekings. For long range fun, I like sierra matchkings. For my levers like 45-70, I like hornady 350gr or 300gr partitions. I find uses for them all.

My favorite bullet for deer sized game is the ballistic tip.It provides adequate penetration and quick kills. For moose and elk,I prefer the tsx as is penetrates more than the partition and expands very reliably at the muzzle velocities that my cartridges provide.

For deer sized game out of my 243 I prefer the Combined Technology BT. Out of my bigger bores I love the AccuBonds and the Barnes TSXs. My 7mm08 really likes 140gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and TSXs so its gonna be a coin toss this fall.

Old style Hornady Inter-Locks have worked for me from antelope to Yukon moose including a grizzly and everything you can eat in between.A longer list would be bullets I've tried and seen fail.................Harold
