I have had good luck with them all- from the cheap bulk pacrem&win bullets to the barns, speer etc i have tryed.

So i guess i have no favorite;)

I too have good results from a number but my favorites are:

Deer sized- Nosler Ballistic Tips
Moose and Elk - Barnes TSX

I am by no means an expert on bullets. But could some one please explain to mewhat a 150 grain-30 caliber-Barnes TSX shot from a 30-06will do to a deer that a150 grain-30 caliber Sierra GameKing will not do??? Especialy when it is 2 or 3 times more expensive??? Sorry guys but I am not buying it!!! I have shot lots of different bullets over the years-does any one remember the so called X-bullet that fell flat on it's face??? And they cost three times as much also!!! Very few people could even get those bullets to shoot with any accuracy.

They are alot like the Partitions. There is no question that the partition is a very very very good bullet. But again, what does it really do to a deer, or even an elk that a Sierra or Hornady will not do. And I can honestly say that most of the time the Sierra's will be more accurate than the Partitions. I know this from personal experience.

I will not debate about dangerous game bullets-I have zero experience with DGB's, but it will be a cold day in **** when I pay the price for a Barnes TSX. Tom.

Well, from a 30-06, I couldn't tell you. But I shoot a 7-08 with 120gr TSXs. I have the advantage of a lighter bullet, with a flatter trajectory (like I need it anyway), but since the bullet is solid copper, and I shoot through the tops of the shoulders/scapula on all my deer, I need a bullet that I know will get through and on out the other side. Never had one not do the job.

As for the X-Bullet. I just shot my last two 30/30 AI loaded X-Bullet loads last season. Loved the performance. Addmitingly, that wide, open nose probably helped the expansion, where the other spitzer styled X-Bullets had opening issues. I never had a deer that didn't go poof when hit with one.

out of my 30-06 I have been using Hornady interbonds (150gr) for deer the last 2-3 seasons but this year I bought a box of 165gr Sierra gamekinds and I am looking forward to trying those.

I shoot the Hornady 150grn spbt #3033 in my 30/06 and 308. They have done all I can ask , and I guess I'm pretty picky. 1.5 at 100 both rifles . I'm yet to find a factory that the 06' shoots under 4"

Like the Sierra Game King. I don't think the Barnes,even though they are effective,are worth the cost. L also like the Noslar Partition.

To SwampCollie: I totally agree with you. I am also a hunter who shoots at the front shoulder, not behind it. My goal is to break the deer down on the spot(which is what I believe you are doing). We load several .243's and 100 grain bullets that completely break a deer down, when the deer is shot in the front shoulder. Is it your belief that a 120 grain from a 7-08 will not hold together(my dad had a 7-08-it's in my safe now)? I am pretty sure the GameKing's will hold together.

My complaint with the more expensive bullets is simple. They ****me off. They do not cost any more to make. They are just enjoying a successful marketing campaign. Why else would they have to come out with new bullets every several years(Barnes and Nosler)??? It is the same with the ammo manufactures. They come out with new bullets and cartridges for one reason only-new sales. I am not saying that is a bad thing. But why do they have to charge that much more??? Have you seen the price of 30-378 Weatherby Ammo???

I guess it is the American Way!!! Fortunately for me I have seen it before.

I am not attacking the long running Partition bullet. It is a fantastic bullet. But not necessary for 99% of the shooting hunter's do. I would consider it for heavy dangerous game, but I do not hunt heavy dangerous game. Tom.

I think those cheap Remington Core-Lokts will kill a deer just as good as the TSX's or Partitions. I have used round nose bullets out of my .270 and that deer was just as dead as the deer I shot with the X-bullet. Right now I am using the TSX's in my 7mm Mag, not for any particular reason, I just have about 60 of them, so I should use them. If I ever get a chance to go elk, moose, or caribou hunting I will use either my A-Frames or Accubonds. For varmints, I think the V-Max, BlitzKings,are pretty hard to beat. But I want to try the Bergers next. ;)

Accubonds. Great for the deer, elk, black bear, and occasional coyote I shoot 'round here.
