Default Shotgun reloading equipment

My little brother waxed my butt at the skeet range this weekend and that's not going to happen again. I've been reloading rifle cartridges for a long time but i don't know anything about shotgun shells. Any recommended web sites? Preferred equipment and componants? I'll be starting out loading 12 gauge for a Rem 870.

Mec is as good as it gets for the money. If you want to spend more money buy a P/W reloader and if you want the very best bar none and can afford it buy a spolar!
here is a great place to start

I have got one of the older Ponness Warren(spell check) presses I do not use any more. They make-IMO-the best press. IF you are interested let me know. I will post some pictures. I am not really sure what it is worth, but I am sure I could come up with a fair price. We have a progressive PW now that spits out 800 shells in one hour. The one I have will do 100-150 in one hour. Tom.

I reload for rifles and pistols to save money and shoot better (for my guns) ammo. Butnow i wonder if i need a reloader for shotgun or just go to wally world? and pick up some cheap shells. what do you figure it costs to reload a 2 3/4" 12 ga with #8 shot? Is there any quality advantage to a handload like there is with centerfire rifle? Who offers bulk quantity shotshells for a decent price?

I use a Mec for 12g. and am loading for an 870 Rem also. I only reload for clays and upland game now. I've priced out the loading costs for steel shot and it is not worth the effort as compared to what the shells cost as compared toyou buying them by the case. I was able to buy 250 Winchester AA steel shot for geese for under $100 last summer and the priced basicly haven't changed. Look for sales during the summer months.
