140 AB loads for 7mm-08
 

Anyone know of a good hunting load for 140gr accu-bonds in 7mm-08?
Also have 7mm Rem Mag but to much gun for NC deer. Am looking to
down size the exit wound and not trash so much meat.

I'm shooting 140gr BTs outta my 7-08 with a full charge of IMR 4350. I'm sure that it'd shoot the AccuBonds equally well, I will know soon enuf when I get time to do some test firing.

I think you will find that IMR 4350 in charge weights from 46 to 48 gr. will put a smile on your face with the 140 gr. Accubonds. Just feed your gun what it seems to like best in that range, and re-check it for repeatability. I get sub-MOA with 48.0 gr. @ 2800+ fps out of my gun, but then again that is MY gun. You need to approach heavy charges slowly and look for pressure signs. By the way, althogh my gun shot smaller groups with lighter charges, the 48.0 gr. load was what I compromised on for a deer load, as it is quite adequate for the job, IMO.

I used the Ballistic Tips out of my 7mm-08 for years, and switched to the Accubonds last year. My primary loadis 48.0 grainsof WW 760. I have also had good results with IMR-4350, Varget, and IMR-4064.

I use these loads in my 7/08.I get a little more speed because my 7/08 has a 24 in barrel.The 120 hornady SP is my faviorte for deer and accuracy.

Try IMR 4350, up to 48.0 G using the Nos AB,s.
I am shooting a Rem Mod 7, of corse 7MM-08.
It will shoot sub MOA at 100 Yds. 2 inches hi at 100 Ydsand drops to about 8 inches low at 300 Yds.
Shot a nice fat doe in the sholder head on at about 15 Yds and the AB exited the rear right ham.
Small exit woulnd but You talk about penetration, amazing.
Shot a nice 8 point at about 100 Yds broad side, nice 1 inch exit woulnd. Dropped them both in there tracks.
Lets just say I will not be looking for a different load any time soon !!!
No meat damage at all compared to the Ballistic Tips, no blow up,s.
