RE: What Equipment did you start out with?

I started with a kit from Pacific that a friend of mine was selling but have up graded to a Redding T-7 press. I haven’t replaced to many parts other then a RCBS trimmer and a primmer tool. Next on the list is a new beam scale but not really a priority. Most of my dies are RCBS with some Pacific and I’m looking at getting a couple of Redding...

I started with a Lyman press ,dies and I forget who made the scales back in the early 50's . Some of the companies of today weren't in business back then then . I've replaced everything many times .

I started with an RCBS Rockchucker kit. Quickly ended up with a hand priming tool, tumbler, calipers, and powder trickler. Thats about all that I have plus loading blocks and loaded ammuntion boxes.

Later,

Marcial

RE: What Equipment did you start out with?

Started out with an RCBS Rockchucker kit and all RCBS dies. Also still use the same RCBS hand operated trimming tool. Did add a hand priming tool and finally bought myself a new electronic scale/powder measure. Bought the Lyman 1200 DPII. What a sweet toy!!! Tonight I loaded 50 rounds of 22-250 faster than ever. It measures and dumps the powder into the pan while I'm seating a bullet on the last load. By the time my bullet is seated, the pan is full of the next load and just keep going! My guess is that I cut my reloading time down by 2/3 on the rounds that I load alot of.
Also started using some Redding dies. They're very nice and I think they may be a bit better than the RCBS's. JMPO.
Happy loading to all!

Started with an RCBS RS3 press and 5-0-5 scale about 30 yrs ago. Still cranking out great ammo. No need to replace.

Well, I am not the veteran like most of the responses here have come from. But nontheless I started out with a Lee Classic Reloader. You know, the kind that you need a mallet and hard surface to use. That was cool, but after 2 shoulder surgeries I have a helluva time swinging a hammer that much so I finally bought a Lee Classic Cast press. Much easier now. I am still adding and upgrading items as I can afford it. You guys have all been great for offering words of advice and wisdom. Thanks.:)

I started out with a Hornady progressive press 21 years ago and still use that press. I have purchased another just like it so I always have one press for large primers the other for small.
Not sure I would tell someone starting out to get a progressive but I believe the chances of a double charge are very slim with auto indexing
